Below is a list of the Clatworthy Fly Fishing Club events for the remainder of 2018. These are free to attend for CFFC members (as part of their membership fee).
Some events are open to non-members where a small fee is payable. Get in touch for more information.

Clatworthy Fly Fishing Club Events – 2nd half 2018
An evening with Charles Jardine

Thursday 14th June 6:30 (7pm start) – 9:30pm.
For many fly fishers Charles needs no introduction; author, illustrator, artist and fly fishing guru his passion for the sport is legendary. I am delighted that he will be sharing a few hours with us where he will be demonstrating casting techniques and then, an open forum, where no doubt his infectious enthusiasm for angling will inspire us there and then to grab a rod and wet a line…

Saturday 21st July – Boat fun day – boat tutorials & short fun competition with prizes. 8.30am – 3.30pm

Clatworthy Open Day & Fly Fishing Festival
Saturday 11th August. 11am – 4pm
A fun day out for all the family – Free entry!
All are welcome, come and explore Clatworthy.
Bring a picnic, take a stroll around the reservoir.

- Guided walk across the dam, through woodland and up to the ancient hill fort

Sunday 26th August – CFFC Anniversary Cup and BBQ
9am – 3.30pm Clatworthy
A big day for Clatworthy Fly Fishing Club members! Celebrating our 2nd season this is a fun get-together with a friendly competition with prizes and then to follow, a BBQ with singing, dancing and much merriment. Ok, maybe not the singing & dancing but don’t let that stop you, it’ll be a great social event…
Saturday 1st September CFFC Away Trip, Wimbleball Lake
Boat or bank 8.30am – 4pm
Meet at the ticket office for 8.30 start. There is a catch and release option at this water. Boat anglers must reserve their boat prior to the event!

Saturday 15th September – The Clatworthy Cook-off and BBQ
12am – 3pm Clatworthy reservoir
Back by popular demand! we had a great event last year which was much enjoyed by all. Sample some trout like you’ve never tasted before; trout paté, hot smoked, cold smoked trout, Thai style trout curry, and plenty more! And if you really won’t try the trout then we’ve got you covered with burgers, bangers and some amazing hot smoked meats…
Food smoking and cooking demonstrations and Q&A

Saturday 29th September – CFFC Open Bank Match
Clatworthy 9am – 4pm
Held in the friendly spirit of things this bank competition is free for club members. There will be prizes for top 3 heaviest bags and a prize for the heaviest fish (cannot be won by top 3), no time bonus.
Sign in is from 8.30am, at Clatworthy fishing lodge. Fishing starts 9am prompt, weigh-in no later than 4pm.

This is it folks! the last club outing of the year. Forget the Christmas shopping, bag a trout or two and smoke them ready for the Christmas lunch starter….
