Fly Fishing For Beginners – May
The session will cover:
– How to correctly set up the rod, reel and line
– Knots (how to tie them)
– Flies & fly selection
– The fundamentals of casting
These fly fishing for beginners sessions are aimed at those who are keen to learn the basics of fly fishing. By the end of the session attendees will have learned the necessary steps required to get to the level of casting a fly (there will be no actual fishing). All equipment is provided. Places for each session are limited, pre-booking is required to reserve your place.

In case of it being cold, please bring warm clothing. Some of the session will be taken outside, wellies are advised!
Parents or carers should be aware that the duration of the session is approximately 2 hours and must be available to pick up their child at the end of the session.
Each session will be held at the fishing lodge at Clatworthy Reservoir.
Clatworthy Reservoir post code is TA4 2EJ this will guide you to the entrance of the visitors car park. The fishing lodge is 100 meters down the hill towards the water.
Note: Whilst in the session there will be no flies with hooks attached to the rod it is advised that some form of eye protection is used during the casting session. Sun glasses would be adequate.
